In this day and age, we know that passion can sometimes outshine paycheck. If you’ve been wondering how you can make the most of your salary and financially prepare for your future, we’ve got you!
BuzzFeed is teaming up with Bank of America’s Better Money Habits to introduce the top 50 Under $50K, a community of young professionals who are practicing smart financial habits on salaries of $50,000 or less, the average starting salary for U.S. college graduates in 2017.
We’ve selected 50 young professionals from various careers, education backgrounds and incomes to honor as our 50 Under $50K. These young stars will also join us at our end-of-summer camp to celebrate and learn even more from experts and their peers. Take a look!
It’s not about how much you make; it’s about what you make of it. The Better Money Habits 50 Under $50K recognizes financially savvy young professionals who are making a starting salary of $50,000 or less go a long way.
In partnership with BuzzFeed, Bank of America put out an open call for entries and encouraged people three years or less into their careers to share their own stories and creative money-saving life hacks.
Our judging committee included influential editors from BuzzFeed, Bank of America financial experts and representatives from Better Money Habits, Bank of America’s free financial education platform. Together we vetted hundreds of entries across a variety of backgrounds, industries, education levels and geographies.
The 50 honorees do have one thing in common: they are practicing solid financial habits at a time when many are taking on new financial responsibilities like rent, student loan payments, saving money from their first “real paycheck” and balancing a budget.
